When visiting Cape Town the choice of accommodation is overwhelming and there are many areas of the city to choose from. These include the popular V&A Waterfront, City bowl, Camp’s Bay, Constantia Winelands and South Peninsula to name a few.
We’re always on the lookout for the best place for our clients, especially those travelling with families, so we decided to stay in Bloubergstrand on our most recent visit to Cape Town. This Cape Town suburb is 30 mins drive from the hustle and bustle from the central city (be sure to travel out of peak times though!).
The best thing about this area is the awesome view of Table Mountain across Table Bay. Many postcard pictures of Table Mountain are taken from here. We found it a great relaxed spot to stay for a few days during your South African holiday. The beach is great very child-friendly. There is a small island just off the beach and the the kids have great fun wading out when the tide is right. And no, we don’t mean Robben Island!
We stayed in a spacious self-catering family apartment with three bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a nice lounge with a television. We also visited the other three star bed and breakfast rooms which were nice and fresh. We particularly liked the front rooms which all have spectacular views.
View from front rooms and the pool.
We also visited the nearby Blue Peter restaurant for a drink – only coffee this time but great for cocktails too! Read more about the Blue Peter in our previous blog about 35 of the hottest hot spots to have a drink in Cape Town. A big thumbs up from us!
