Travel Tuesday: Mariner Guest House

If visiting Boulders Beach penguin colony, discovering beautiful beaches, interacting with the rich marine life in False Bay (diving with great white sharks, boat trips to see whales and dolphins, fishing charters, kayaking with penguins and more), enjoying a meal overlooking the sea or checking out Cape Point in the Table Mountain National Park are on your bucket list then the Mariner Guest House is the perfect place to stay. Situated in the seaside naval village of Simon’s Town all of these attractions are easy to access on foot or within a short drive.

We recommend this owner-run guest house for many reasons including the great location and views, helpful staff, great value for money and delicious breakfasts.

“Next, our second destination  took us along impressive cliffs and views on the ocean to Simon’s Town where we went on a whale watching trip (and saw a lot of them!) and also in my view the absolute highlight of our visit: the Cape of Good Hope.

The Mariner Guest House is a very nice place with a perfect view on False Bay and Simon’s Town. Everything very nice and clean with friendly and helpful staff and free transfer to and from restaurants. More than excellent breakfast! A good base to explore sea life: penguins, whales etc.”  Hans de Voogd & friends from the Netherlands
